Every evening, cosy hut and campsites in stunning settings will welcome you warmly.


Day 1: Arrival in Egilsstaðir
The journey begins in the morning at Reykjavik Domestic Airport. You will take an early morning flight to Egilsstaðir in northeast Iceland and then transfer to your acoomodation near Egilsstadir, situated on the banks of the long lake, Lagarfljót. There will be time to settle in, explore the local area, and relax.

Day 2: Egilsstaðir to Seyðisfjörður to Loðmundarfjörður


From Egilsstaðir, you will get a transfer to the colourful village of Seyðisfjörður, a key fishing village and the only harbor in Iceland connected to Europe by ferry
From here, starts the walk per se. You will cross a dramatic mountain pass to reach the deserted Loðmundarfjörður fjord, once home to one of Iceland’s most isolated communities. You may spot eider ducks, gannets or even reindeer.

Day 3: Loðmundarfjorður tu Húsavik
If weather permits, you can climb through rhyolite mountains to Kækjuskörð Pass, offering breathtaking views of snowcapped mountains, fjord-lined coasts, and the ocean. Descending from the pass, we’ll hike through moorland to reach Mount Hvítserkur, one of Iceland’s most picturesque mountains. You then will continue to your mountain hut located on the site of a small, old farm deserted since the 1950s.

Day 4: Húsavík to Breiðavík

From the hut, you follow a track that undulates over streams and past waterfalls to a tiny church set on a bluff above the ocean. Then you walk to the beautiful wild bay of Breiðavík, known for its coastal marsh and black sandy beaches covered with Siberian driftwood. Curious seals will likely observe on the beach

Day 5 : Breiðavík to Brúnavík to Bakkagerði
Day 5: Breiðavík to Brúnavík to Bakkagerði
You will hike through massive rhyolite mountains displaying a range of colors on our way to Borgarfjörður via Brúnavík. We’ll then hike to the small coastal village of Bakkagerði, known for its majestic Dyrfjöll Mountain range and the craggy bluff of Álfaborg, said to be the home of fairies. Our walk continues to the islet and fishing harbour of Fagrihóll, home to various bird species particularly the puffin, one of the biggest Icelandic colony.

Day 6: Dýrfjöll and Stórurð

Your last hike will be in the Dyrfjöll Mountains, crossing the Vatnaskarð pass to reach Stórurð, an area of large rocks intersected by a glacial stream. You then return to Egilstaðir to continue your journey or catch the evening flight to Reykjavik
